EDMONDS, Wash. — Walla Walla Community College completed its two-day West Coast swing with a 2-all draw against Edmonds here Saturday in NWAACC men’s soccer action.
Walla Walla led 2-0 before Edmonds battled back to get even and earn the draw.
Cesar Rodriguez, on an assist from Jhony Mendoza, gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute. Mario Guizar extended the lead with an unassisted goal in the 46th minute as Walla Walla jumped on top 2-0.
Edmonds started its comeback with a Miguel Medina goal in the 56th minute and Josimer Evangelista got it tied in the 67th minute.
Derek Carver, in goal for the Warriors, made five saves.
The Warriors started the trip on a winning note as Walla Walla blanked Skagit Valley 3-0 on Friday. Warrior keeper Ulisses Faurrieta pitched made six saves to preserve the 3-0 win.
After a scoreless first half, Mendoza produced the only goal the Warriors would need in the 49th minute. Guizar tacked on another Warrior goal in the 63rd minute. Guizar got the ball to Michael Mollay in the 75th minute and Mollay put away the clincher for a 3-0 Warrior win.
The weekend leaves the Warriors in first in the East with a 4-0-1 record.
Walla Walla travels to Ontario, Ore., to battle Treasure Valley Wednesday.
