Coyotes cruise past Waitsburg-Prescott

BURBANK — Burbank starter Tim Ellis restricted the Waitsburg-Prescott offense to just one run, as the Coyotes cruised to a 7-1 victory on Tuesday.

Ellis fired a complete game and struck out 11 W-P batters. He also collected two of Burbank’s 13 hits.

The game was knotted at zero until the bottom of the fourth, when Burbank’s offense came alive.

“Burbank’s five hits in the fourth inning broke the game open and the Coyotes jumped to a 5-0 lead,” W-P coach Dustin Snedigar said. “That would prove to be enough for Ellis as he continued to keep the Tigers bats silent.”

W-P’s Mike Grant finished 2-for-3 on the day at the plate. Teammates Nick Pearson and Talen Larsen also added a hit apiece.
