Milton-Freewater Rotary Club members attended to a bit of housekeeping at a recent meeting.
Badges were presented to Molly Hasenbank as a new member; to Mike Swinnerton as past president for the 2001-2002 year; and to Lewis Key as past president for the 2004-2005 year.
Member Bob Jones noted that the new Milton-Freewater Library opened 11 years ago on April Fools Day and was officially dedicated on April 15, tax day. He will host Oldies Night @ the Library, 8 S.W. Eight Ave., at 7:30 tonight, featuring Top 40 songs from April 4, 1964.
With a preparations assist from Kiwanis Club, Rotary’s annual Easter Egg Hunt is coming up at 10 a.m. April 19 in Yantis Park.
Plans for the group’s big Base of the Blues Bash fundraiser on Sept. 20 are beginning gel, and it looks like another successful event, said Rotarian Robby Robbins, who provides meeting reports to the media.
Details for the entertainment and catered meal are being finalized. Proceeds from events such as this fund Rotary’s programs that benefit the community and area youths.
