Regional FIRST LEGO challenge on tap at Walla Walla University

COLLEGE PLACE — Walla Walla University will host the 2014 FIRST LEGO League Regional Robotics Challenge on Sunday in the Winter Educational Complex at the corner of Fourth and Davis streets.

FIRST, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, was founded in 1989 to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.

Sixteen teams from across the Northwest will attend, including those from Milton Stateline Adventist school, Rogers Adventist School and the Children’s Home Society. Competitors are between 6 and 14 years old. Table competition will begin at 11:30 a.m.

This year’s theme is “Nature’s Fury,” focusing on responses to natural disasters.
