Albert William Ball Sr. passed away peacefully on April 10, 2014, at the age of 99 in College Place.
Born Nov. 6, 1914, in Aberdeen, Wash., he was a resident of Dillingham, Alaska, for many years. After retiring he moved to Washington state, where he and his wife, Eileen, lived during the winter months. Albert returned to Alaska each summer to commercially fish for salmon, missing only one season in the past 82 years. Albert was an Alaska bush pilot in Western Alaska for 30-plus years. He will be greatly missed by his large extended family.
A memorial service will be held in College Place on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church. A memorial service will be held at Ekuk, Alaska, this summer and Albert’s remains will be buried in Dillingham, near his son, Bert.
