David and Karen Grimm anniversary


David and Karen Grimm of Touchet will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Life Church, 116 S. Third Ave., Walla Walla. Friends and family are invited. The couple request no gifts.

The Grimms met at a Veterans Administration hospital where Karen worked. They married May 29, 1964, in Coeur d’Alene. Karen’s maiden name is Fehmer.

David was Parks and Recreation director for Walla Walla, and Walla Walla School District plant facilities supervisor until his retirement in 1995.

He enjoys fishing, reading and studying the Bible.

Karen is a registered nurse. She graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital in 1958. She worked the last several years of her career at Providence St. Mary Medical Center and retired in 2007.

She enjoys knitting, reading and exercising.

Both are care pastors at Life Church.

They have three sons, Michael Grimm of Kirkland, Wash., Brian Grimm of Lenexa, Kan., and Robert Grimm of Walla Walla; and five grandchildren.
