WWCC softball falls to 12-17 overall

WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Community College softball team suffered through a difficult weekend on its home turf.

The Warriors slipped to 9-8 in the NWAACC Eastern Region and 12-17 overall after dropping three of its four games.

WWCC suffered 14-10 and 17-9 defeats to Treasure Valley on Saturday. The Chuckars banged out 28 hits on the day.

“I’m proud of the girls,” WWCC coach Mark Michaud said. “They worked as hard as they could. Treasure Valley is a good hitting team.”

Walla Walla split with Blue Mountain on Friday. The Warriors won game one, 14-6, and lost game two, 9-4.

Stefanie Snow had four hits in Friday’s opener for the Warriors. Paige Pontarolo added three while Hanna DeBaugh, Sam Robillard and Brook Simpson collected two hits apiece.

WWCC dropped game two despite three hits from Cheyenne Kessler and two off the bat of Kendyl Hamilton.

WWCC will be on the road next weekend for games at Yakima Valley on Friday and Wenatchee Valley on Saturday.
