WALLA WALLA — Today is the last day for voters in the Walla Walla and Dayton school districts to cast ballots for bond elections.
Voters who have waited until today should deposit their ballots in one of three drop boxes in Walla Walla rather than mailing them, said Dave Valiant, county elections supervisor.
In order to count, ballots must be postmarked with today’s date and voters must remember that mail has to go to Spokane for processing. “The safest way today is to use a drop box” Valiant said.
The deadline for dropping off ballots is 8 p.m.
Drop box locations in Walla Walla are:
• Walla Walla County Election Center, 310 W. Poplar St. Ballots may be deposited in the box outside or inside.
• Alley between the County Courthouse and the County Jail.
• Walla Walla Fire Station No. 2, 170 N. Wilbur Ave. (Drop box located in drive-up area of parking lot)
In Columbia County, ballots can be dropped off at the Columbia County Courthouse or Starbuck City Hall.
