MILTON-FREEWATER — Baserunning errors by the McLoughlin High School softball kept Ontario close in a Greater Oregon League doubleheader on Saturday.

The Pioneers won 5-0 and 5-2, but Mac-Hi coach Nicole Christian said the Pioneers ran themselves out of four rallies total — by getting doubled off bases when they didn’t need to.

Once again, Mac-Hi (11-3 overall, 6-0 league) got great pitching and hitting from star Colette Robert. She batted .1000 on the day with seven hits and struck out 25 without walking anyone.

Pioneer Brooke Kralman had four hits, while Shannon Carter and Makayla Kelly added three apiece.

Mac-Hi plays Wa-Hi Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the WWCC field.
