Letter - An open mind is a beautiful thing

Kudos to the U-B for its wonderful recent front-page article titled “Big Bang a question for most.”

Amazingly, most Americans can still tell the difference between apple pie and a cow pie.

Even with the extraordinary financial, legal and philosophical efforts made by evolutionists to forcibly convert public school children into religious Darwinism (scientism), most still spit out the cow pie when the realize it isn’t apple pie.

Despite herculean efforts by evolutionary scientists, science teachers, our local medical physicist and retired medical doctor, most people still prefer facts to conjecture in scientific matters. An open mind is truly a beautiful thing.

Now that the new science building bond has been defeated, let’s get busy and find creative financing to remodel the current structure and fix the ventilation problems.

Question? How did this alleged threat to our high school students’ health go undetected by state health inspectors for so long? Hmmm?

Guillermo's letters are always provocative and stimulating. The difference between apple pie and cow pie? Hmmm, let me see! As for the cow pie, the methane in the cow, in an amazing, herculean, relieving effort provokes a Big Ban which is followed by a , fresh from the oven, cow pie. It is that simple!

So, by definition, a cow pie is a bovine creationism, with scientific fundamentals in its genesis.

Seriously, I really like the idea of creative financing to remodel the old building, designed with all the trimmings for the teaching of pure Science.

As for the ventilation problems identified by Mr. Garcia, the solution is also very simple. more windows and less cows.

Mooochas Gracias for the apple pie!

Mr. Garcia: the 15th century called. They would like their logic and reason back.

Yes, most people still prefer facts to conjecture. And ghost stories. That's why we have the scientific method.

Neil deGrasse Tyson stated it as plainly as you possibly can: "The theory of evolution, like the theory of gravity, is a scientific fact."

Neil deGrasse is a joy to watch; even better to listen and be enlightened by. An open mind is indeed a beautiful thing. An 'open' mind.... Respect for ones differences, yes- but science is real. Conjecture, theory, the great stimuli of the human mind in all it's wonder. Cow pies are for the fields, apple pie for the tummy. Science, now that is for everyone's taking. Our brain; use it or lose it!
