BAKER CITY — McLoughlin High’s boys golfers finished eighth of 14 teams at Quail Ridge here on Monday.
Andrew Kain led the Pioneers with an 87, with Sterling Sandberg carding a 92, Evan Kain a 94, Riley Chester 95 and Rain Wheeler 96.
“Even though none of the kids were happy with their scores, four of the five have never played the course before and with the very small, tricky greens and higher elevation, it is a course you need to play a few times to get the hang of,” Mac-Hi coach Barry Wofford said.
The Pioneers four-player team score wa 368. Pendleton won the tournament with a 324, with host Baker next at 332.
