Kenneth A. “Kenny” Weis of Milton-Freewater passed away Feb. 3, 2014, at his home at the age of 63 years.
Memorial services will be Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Milton Seventh-day Adventist Church. Viewing will be Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Humane Society through the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, OR 97862.
Kenny was born June 24, 1950, in Walla Walla, the son of Wilmert F. and Hazel I. Town Weis. He grew up and attended schools in Milton-Freewater, graduating from McLoughlin High School in 1968. After his graduation from high school, he attended Blue Mountain Community College. Kenny served in the Oregon National Guard. On June 22, 1974, he married Vicky Bergstad in Milton-Freewater. He had worked for Shockman and Son. He later worked as a heavy-equipment operator in construction throughout the Pacific Northwest. Kenny later began working for the City of Milton-Freewater for 12 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching Little League and Babe Ruth and umpiring.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Weis at the home; children, Jeff Weis of Portland, Tyler and Daun Weis of Wasilla, Alaska, Kendra and Shane Garner of Milton-Freewater, and Brad Weis of Milton-Freewater; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lois Osborne; and two brothers, Norman and Melvin Weis.
