‘The Score’ reviewer Stone to host symphony’s ‘Night at the Movies’

WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Symphony will present a “Night at the Movies” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in Cordiner Hall, 46 S. Park St., on the Whitman College campus.

The host for the evening will be film music reviewer Edmund Stone of NPR’s “The Score.”

The Symphony will take the listener through the twists and turns of music from the world of film.

Music from classic favorites such as “West Side Story,” “Chariots of Fire,” and “Cats” and more adventurous music from “Star Trek,” “Indiana Jones” and “Apollo 13” and others.

Still photos from each film will be presented as the music is played.

The program will open with Don Feely on the pipe organ. Before the concert a free “Inside the Music” talk will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Reid Campus Center across Boyer Avenue from Cordiner.

Tickets can be purchased online atwwsymphony.org, by calling 509-529-8020, at the Symphony office at 131/2 E. Main, Suite 201, or at the door the evening of the concert. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m.
