On Friday, police took field reports on the following noninjury, ice-related accidents: Second Avenue exit from westbound U.S. Highway 12, 7:51 a.m., single-vehicle flipped to side after striking concrete barrier; North Ninth Avenue and Cherry Street, 1:48 p.m., two-vehicle, side-impact at intersection; East Tietan and Howard streets, 1:57 p.m., two-vehicle, sideswipe while navigating right turn; West Poplar and Avery streets, 4:42 p.m., two-vehicle, side-impact at intersection; Wellington Avenue and Portland Street, 7:38 p.m., two-vehicle, side-impact at intersection.
Walla Walla County
Sheriff’s deputies and Fire District 3 personnel rescued a hunter stuck on a steep bank near Luckenbill and Yox roads north of Touchet on Friday evening. The man became stuck after sliding partially down a 100-foot steep bank at about 5 p.m. He was finally pulled from the bank around 2 a.m. Saturday and transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. His name and condition were not released. Fire Districts 4, 6 and Walla Walla Fire Department assisted in the search and rescue.
