Wa-Hi freshman Ely Kimball (160 pounds) and junior Martin Barrera (132 pounds) placed third.

Blackman beat the No. 1 seed from Chiawana for his second-place finish, Wa-Hi coach Dallas Jones said, and Kimball pinned his opponent to qualify for regional.

Earning alternate status to regional with fourth-place finishers were Blue Devil freshmen Joshua Pettyjohn (113) and Brian Ocampo (120), and sophomore Andrew Granchukoff (170).

“The kids wrestled hard and gained valuable experience,” Jones said. “I am proud of the way they competed.”
