Koller leads Pomeroy girls past Rosalia, 53-45

POMEROY — The Pomeroy girls basketball team overcame a slow start to down Rosalia, 53-45, here on Wednesday.

The Pirates got a game-high 19 points from Tori Koller, who nailed four 3-pointers. Mackenzie Monahan also added six points to go with her game-high 13 rebounds.

“This was a hard-fought battle,” Pomeroy coach Nettie Severs said. “Both teams played hard. In the first half we were getting good shots, but (we) were struggling to make baskets. We got down right off the bat, but the girls battled their way back into the game.”

Pomeroy forced 22 Rosalia turnovers and held a 37-25 advantage on the glass.

The Pirates travel to face Colton at 6 p.m. on Friday.
