Ingle Chapel welcomes new pastor, family

MILTON-FREEWATER ­— The Rev. Doug Murphy will take the reins as senior pastor at Ingle Chapel, 85372 Highway 339, today.

Murphy grew up in a small border town in Southern California, where his father was a homicide investigator, according to a news release from Ingle Chapel.

He played football for the Huskies at the University of Washington.

He later began attending a Bible study at a Mixed Martial Arts gym in Seattle and became both a professional MMA champion and a committed Christian.

After retiring from fighting, Murphy went into-full-time ministry, attending Liberty University.

Murphy and his wife, Amanda, have two children, Arron, 9; and Anna Skye, 6.

Worship services at Ingle Chapel are at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Adult Bible study begins at 9 a.m. Junior Church for children ages 4-10 begins at 11 a.m. and a nursery is available for children ages 3 and under during the worship service.
