WALLA WALLA — Keith Robinson, assistant professor of sociology from University of Texas at Austin, will speak at 7 p.m. March 3 at Whitman College’s Maxey Auditorium.

He will present “Parental Involvement and Academic Outcomes: What Works ... and What Doesn’t,” based on his book, cowritten by Angel Harris, “The Broken Compass: Parental Involvement With Children’s Education.”

Robinson’s study challenges the notion that parental involvement occurs in only one way, and that it is always beneficial to children’s academic success.

The talk is free and open to the public.
