The founder of a Walla Walla company known for red wine stain remover will kick off a free Entrepreneurial Speaker Series at Walla Walla Community College tonight.
Staci Wanichek, founder of Wine Away, will be the inaugural speaker in the series designed to “inspire, teach and motivate local entrepreneurs to initiate, grow or expand their business ideas,” according to an announcement from Extended Learning Coordinator Jodi Worden.
Wanichek’s presentation will start at 7 p.m. at the Center for Enology & Viticulture.
Once a month for five months various speaker will tell their stories. Each presenter will speak 30 to 45 minutes about their own journeys in business, including successes and failures, before a question-and-answer session. Attendees can also network with the speakers over refreshments.
The series is intended to “create a landscape of resources” for current and potential entrepreneurs.
Other presenters and their dates: March 12, Eric Rasmussen, managing director of Infinitum Humanitarium Systems; April 16, a panel on art that includes Telander Gallery owner Kirsten Telander, Walla Walla Foundry president Dylan Farnum, and artist Lynn Woolson, co-founder of the PopUP Gallery; and May 6, Tim Busald, creator/owner of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. A family business operator and date for June are still to be scheduled.
