Kenneth Rogers, 89, was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Great Falls, Mont. He passed on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. After high school he joined the U.S. Marines. Ken earned a forestry degree from Montana State University. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service until his retirement in 1979; then drove school bus for many years.
On June 18, 1955, Ken married Juliette Sevigny of Moxee, Wash. Ken and Julie raised nine children. Ken was a dedicated family man and superb pinochle and cribbage player. Ken was a life-long member of the Catholic Church. He especially enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports for DeSales High School.
Ken will be remembered as a dignified, inherently honest, and humble man.
Ken is survived by his bride, Juliette; and his nine children, including Kathy Moore of Walla Walla; his brother, Logan Rogers of Spokane; and his cribbage nemesis, Fr. Joe Schmidt. Ken is also survived by many grand and great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited for Ken at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lewiston, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. You are welcome to sign Ken’s guestbook at www.mtviewfuneralhome.com.
