PENDLETON — An installation work by La Grande artist Susan Murrell will fill the East Oregonian Gallery at the Pendleton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St., in March.
“Embedded” opens with a free public reception for the artist from 5:30-7 p.m. March 6.
Murrell has had solo exhibitions of her work in museum and gallery venues nationally for 10 years and has been the recipient of several honors for her work, including one of the coveted Golden Spot residency grants from the Ford Family Foundation. She currently teaches art at the Eastern Oregon University.
Installation art pieces are site-specific three-dimensional works that are designed to transform the viewer’s perception of a space. The physical features of the room actually become part of the artwork.
The installation will be on view through March 29. The East Oregonian Gallery is open Tuesday-Friday, 10-4 p.m. and Saturday noon-4 p.m. For details visit pendletonarts.org, or call 541-278-9201.
