Dennis Ledford, the owner of Walla Walla’s Coldwell Banker First Realtors, has been awarded the prestigious “Chandler Barton Spirit Award” in honor of the former Coldwell Banker Real Estate president and chief executive officer.

The award is presented annually to the sales associate, manager, broker or owner who exemplifies what is described as Barton’s “legendary ‘Can Do’ attitude.”

Ledford was nominated by his peers and selected from a group of more than 84,000 professionals affiliated internationally, according to the announcement. Ledford’s positive attitude “not only helped him overcome personal illness but to continue demonstrating an outstanding pace of growth of his company,” the release described.

“Dennis has built a company with an exemplary reputation in his marketplace while always finding ways to give back to his community through supporting Shakespeare Walla Walla, Relay for Life and many other causes,” said Budge Huskey, president and CEO for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, in the release.

He lauded Ledford’s “unwavering spirit” in Walla Walla, where the company has about 40 percent of the marketshare. “He is a shining example of what makes those within the Coldwell Banker network so extraordinary — by focusing on the needs of their customers and supporting the communities where they live and work,” Huskey said.

Coldwell Banker First Realtors was the sixth franchise in Washington to join the Coldwell Banker system more than 30 years ago. The office includes 28 independent sales professionals.
