Whitman student to host radio program on homeless, poverty issues

Whitman College Community Fellow and senior Mares Asfaha will host a radio show from 1-2 p.m. Sundays at KWCW 90.5.

The French and economics major from Seattle is also a social media intern at Helpline.

She aims to build upon the community conversation on homelessness and poverty in the Valley through the radio program she calls Invisible Walla Walla.

She will talk with various community members about the realities of homelessness and poverty and what is happening and can be done to better the lives of those often moving below society’s radar.
