Wa-Hi scholarship fund growing rapidly

It’s just 18 months old and in that fleeting time the Walla Walla Public High Schools Scholarship Fund has amassed more than $47,327 as of Dec. 27, according to Jerry Zahl, fund founder.

“This is due to the generosity and effort of the Classes of 1952,1962, 1963 and many other class and individual efforts from Wa-Hi alumni and community friends,” according to an email.

“Matching funds and gifts from Garth and Mary Lindsey, as well as the superb management of the fund by the Blue Mountain Community Foundation have provided strong direction. “There surely continues to be a great need for scholarship. It is lovely to see such all-around recognition and support of this scholarship fund.

Contributions to the WWPHSSF may be made through Blue Mountain Community Foundation, at P.O. Box 603, Walla Walla WA 99362.
