COLLEGE PLACE — Led by a double-double from senior post Allison Wujek, who had 13 points and 10 boards, the DeSales girls basketball team hammered Walla Walla Valley Academy early in the game Saturday evening, then cruised to a 51-20 victory in a Southeast 2B contest against the Knights.

The Irish (7-2, 3-0 SE2B) jumped out to a 26-4 lead in the first quarter of play, but managed just three points in the second as complacency set in, coach Tim Duncan said.

“I thought we came out and played extremely well in the first quarter,” Duncan said. “And then after that we were a little flat the rest of the game. We got comfortable and we just didn’t play very well the rest of the game.”

DeSales next visits Sunnyside Christian Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. WWVA travels to Mac-Hi Tuesday at 6 p.m.
