POMEROY — The Pomeroy girls basketball team defeated Liberty Christian 75-35 Saturday behind double-digit scoring from four different players.

“It is nice to get all of our group back from injury and vacation,” Pomeroy coach Nettie Severs said. “It makes a big difference when you return two when you only had six before.”

The Pirates (2-3 SE 1B, 6-3 overall) used a zone press to make 21 steals on 38 Liberty Christian turnovers.

“We used our steals to get easy lay-ins,” Severs said.

The Pirates play at home Friday against Garfield-Palouse at 6 p.m.
