Final round of Christmas tree pickups set for weekend

When the wind charged through the Walla Walla Valley like a freight train, it created a challenge for Troop 305 Boy Scouts and leaders to follow through on their annual post-Christmas pickup of discarded trees.

A number of them blew behind bushes, porches and vehicles because of high winds on Friday and Saturday.

“I am sure we missed a few out of the thousands of trees we picked up,” said Al Sutlick, coordinator.

Those who would like to have their trees picked up may email the scouts at to be put on the list for the final cleanup crew this weekend.
