TOUCHET — Touchet’s girls jetted to a 17-6 first-quarter lead, and never looked back in a 55-41 Southeast 1B League victory over visiting Liberty Christian Tuesday night.

Touchet sophomore CierroJo McKeown led the Indians’ effort with a triple double, scoring 23 points, nabbing 15 rebounds and swiping 10 steals.

But Touchet coach Missy McKeown was quick to praise her entire team, which consisted of six players on the court Tuesday night.

“Overall, it was a team effort,” the coach said. “Everybody stepped up. I told them right from the beginning we wanted to push the ball up the floor and pressure them from the start.

“With it 17-6 after the first quarter, they did exactly what I told them to do,” coach McKeown said. “It was a great team effort.”

Touchet held a 26-18 halftime edge, and extended the lead by five before the final buzzer.

Wynter Greeno led the Patriots with 14 points and 13 boards.

Harlie Schaeffer put up 10 points, Jennifer Aceves seven, and Abby Grudzinski had six for the Indians.

“I’m very happy, we’re starting to play really good as a team,” coach McKeown said.

The Indians (3-4 in SE1B play, 6-5 overall) host Rosalia at 5 p.m. Saturday.
