WALLA WALLA — Two pitchers from the Northwest Conference signed with the Walla Walla Sweets for the team’s fifth season of West Coast League baseball.
Whitman College junior Spencer Hobson is a 6-foot, 190-pound southpaw. A native of Black Diamond, Wash., Hobson is a three year varsity letterman and graduate of Tahoma High School, going 10-0 in league play as a high school starter. As a sophomore at Whitman, Hobson went 4-2 over 55 2/3 innings of play, notching a 2.26 ERA for the Missionaries.
Christian Jarnagin, a freshman at George Fox University, is a native of Mill Creek, Wash. and a graduate of Glacier Peak High School. A 6-foot 2-inch, 175 pound right-handed pitcher, Jarnagin played for Chaffey Baseball in the summer of 2013, and was named Wesco 3A South All-League honorable mention.
Hobson and Jarnagin will face off at Borleske Stadium on March 22-23 when the Bruins visit the Missionaries.
