COLLEGE PLACE — Amy Arnzen led the Walla Walla Valley Academy girls basketball team to a close 41-38 win against Tri-Cities Prep on Saturday.

Arnzen finished with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Knights rallied from a 10-point deficit to improve to 8-6 overall and 3-4 in Southeast 2B play. The Knights found themselves down 29-19 but responded with a quick five-point swing bolstered by two steals.

“That energized them and the crowd,” WWVA coach Lloyd Redberg said. “That was really the turning point. It looked like we could have rolled over died there, but they didn’t.”

After nabbing the lead, it was WWVA’s free throw shooting that sealed the win. The Knights went 9-of-11 at the charity stripe in the fourth quarter led by Arnzen finishing 6-of-7 in the final quarter.

The Knights host Dayton next Saturday.
