June 9, 1958 — Jan. 18, 2014
Gayle Lea Johnson Stilson, 55, passed away suddenly Saturday at her home. She was born June 9, 1958, to Edward and Rosa Lea Johnson in Clarkston, Wash. One of five children, she told stories of their adventures, including BB gun fights and putting marbles in her dad’s firefighter boots. She married Dan Stilson Dec. 17, 1976. They had three kids: Adam, Dustin and Lindsey, moving to Walla Walla in 1987. Tradition was very important to Gayle--she made every holiday special. She loved her grandkids dearly: PJ, Danni, Ackley O, Mad Dog, Chase and Harmony Halo. She loved attending all of their activities. Gayle recently became a caregiver at Valley Residential Services, developing instant relationships with her co-workers and those she cared for. Gayle was a very caring, generous person who found the good in every one. Her family was her life.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Dan; children, Dustin of Vancouver, Adam of Walla Walla and Lindsey (Jason) Oldridge of Walla Walla; six grandkids, PJ, Dannika, Justin, Madalynn, Chase and Harmony; parents Edward and Rosa Lea Johnson of Quartsite, Ariz.; brothers, Boyd and Paul Johnson; and sister, Kathy Waldher, all of Clarkston; uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
