Walla Walla

After witnessing suspicious activity at 19 N. Wilbur Ave. on Thursday afternoon, officers made several arrests and confiscated drug paraphernalia at the location. At around 2:40 p.m., police noticed a number of individuals moving in and about the residence, with some of the subjects trying to flee over a backyard fence. When police moved in to question the individuals, several of the subjects fled on foot. One of the fleeing people was Chad Hays, 38, who was apprehended by police and found to have several .380-caliber bullets in his pocket. While serving a search warrant of the residence almost three hours later, police found a matching .380-caliber handgun. Hays was arrested for a felon in possession of a firearm and obstructing a law officer. Several other individuals were arrested by the corrections officers.

A charcoal grill was reported stolen Thursday evening from the 400 block of N. Palouse Street.

A two-vehicle, noninjury, rear-end collision occurred Thursday 8:37 a.m. at S. Ninth Avenue and Alder Street.

A robbery occurred Thursday 6:43 p.m. at Los Tapatios store, 114 S. Ninth Ave., when two men with guns entered the store wearing face coverings, fired three shots and demanded cash. Police said after the suspects received cash they ran off, possibly into a waiting vehicle. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information on the robbery should call 527-1960.

Walla Walla County

A theft of a motor home occurred Thursday 10:30-2:30 p.m. at Hood Park. A number of items were taken including change, digital camera, beer and a gas can.

Umatilla County

A collision occurred on Appleton Road and Highway 11 today 5:39 a.m. when a trailer came loose and hit a truck. No injuries were reported.

Chad E. Hays, 38, address unknown. Charge: investigation of felon in possession of firearm and obstructing an officer.

Christy Renee Breeding, 45, 721 Wellington Ave. Charge: investigation of fugitive from justice and obstructing an officer.
