W-P picks up wins over T-C Prep, Irish

WAITSBURG — Waitsburg-Prescott’s boys basketball team followed up a 44-41 victory over first-place Tri-Cities Prep Friday night with another Southeast 2B win Saturday, 66-52 over DeSales.

W-P improves to 4-4 in league and 7-9 overall with the wins.

Forward Corey Brownlees led W-P with 17 points while in foul trouble throughout the game against DeSales.

W-P took out Tri-Cities Prep on the strength of 14 points and 16 rebounds from Brownlee.

“We missed six straight free throws in the fourth quarter,” W-P coach Tavis Crittendon said on W-P’s win against the Jaguars. “Made it tougher than it needed to be. So we will work on foul shooting.”
