Arnold Carl Seibold was born on March 10, 1918, in Cathay, N.D. In 1934, the family moved to Milton-Freewater to be closer to his grandmother Feigner and other relatives. Arnold and his family traveled by car while their personal belongings and livestock arrived by train. The Milton Box Company in Milton, owned by Harris Brothers, employed Arnold. He worked there as a saw filler. In 1940 the Box Company moved to Pendleton. In 1941 Arnold married Winona Budd in a double wedding ceremony, with Elmer Seibold and Roberta Budd. Both couples moved to Pendleton, where the Harris Pine Mills, formerly known as the Milton Box Company employed them.
In 1950 Arnold and Winona later moved to Madras, Ore., where he became a building contractor. Because of his skillful abilities, Arnold began building houses as well as building furniture and kitchen cabinets for their home and others. The couple returned to Milton-Freewater and the Walla Walla Valley after retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Winona of College Place; daughters, Janice Hutson of Culver, Ore., and Pamela Fletcher of Ventura, Calif.; son, Norman Seibold of Selma, Ore.; sisters, LaVerne LeFore and Irene Engelhart both of Milton-Freewater; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His parents; son, Stephen Seibold; brothers, Norman and Elmer Seibold; sister, Donna Wallace; and grandsons, Michael Hutson and Steven Burke all preceded him in death.
