The Marc, the restaurant in Walla Walla’s historic Marcus Whitman Hotel & Conference Center, was named Restaurant of the Year on Monday during the Washington State Wine Awards.
Washington State Wine, the organization that represents wineries and wine grape growers across Washington, served up its top award to the Walla Walla business.
The event honors restaurants, retailers, hotels, tourism professionals and distributors.
“The Washington State Wine Awards are a way to say thank you to our champions,” said Washington State Wine President Steve Warner in a prepared statement.
“We can grow the best grapes and make the best wine here in Washington, but we cannot be truly successful without support from these outstanding individuals and organizations. They help us continue to build momentum for Washington state wine.”
Winners were selected from more than 100 nominations for their menus, innovative educational programs and marketing efforts, plus their commitment to service.
Dan McCaffrey, restaurant manager and sommelier at The Marc, accepted the award. The Marc’s executive chef is Antonio Campolio.
