Pasco couple wins dream wedding offered by Walla Walla group

A Pasco couple will have a dream wedding in Walla Walla in February as part of the Walla Walla Dream Wedding Giveaway.

A group of local vendors have teamed together to offer what amounts to a roughly $40,000 wedding in a contest that will unite a deserving pair that has gone through life-altering circumstances and hardship.

Led by Without a Hitch {Weddings + Events} and Gigi Hickman Photography, the movement has taken place throughout January with applications and video presentations.

A panel of judges announced Michelle Roberts and David Mercado have been chosen as the winners.

Their trip to the altar has been a bumpy one with hardships after birth complications with two of their children, according to a piece on KNDU. Just months after being born, their third child died. Their second child will undergo a surgery in Seattle soon.

The ceremony at Canoe Ridge Winery, 1102 W. Cherry St., comes almost five years after the couple became engaged.

An array of vendors have joined together to put on the wedding. Everything from the rings and dress to the music and food will be provided at no charge.

Wedding planner Carrie Brennan, who owns Without a Hitch, said the ceremony comes at a typically slower time in the wedding industry and serves as a chance to do something good around a holiday dedicated to demonstrations of love.
