Floyd Rolland Schild
December 25, 1930 – May 30, 2014
College Place resident, Floyd Rolland Schild, 83, passed away May 30,
2014, at Providence St. Mary Medical
Floyd was born December 25, 1930,
in Harvey, North Dakota, to Emil and
Hilda Koepplin Schild. The family
moved to this area and he graduated
from Walla Walla High School. On
June 7, 1959, he and Donna M. Johnson
married at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Walla Walla.
Floyd was a loving father and husband enjoying camping
Fishing and hunting. Floyd served his country in the U.S.
Navy. He was a machinist and ran the Coater Department for
Crown Cork and Seal, retiring in 1995. Following retirement,
he and Donna spent four summers as camp hosts in Alaska.
He had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since
1969 and served as Elder there for twelve years. He was also
a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
Those left to mourn his loss are his wife, Donna, at their home.
his daughter and son-in-law, Terryl Ann and Chuck
Goeckler; his sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne Roger and
Wendy Schild and David Allan and Lori Schild; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Dale Thompson; brother-in-law, Gerald Johnson; his uncle John and Grace Schild; his aunts, Lucielle Bauman, Margie Weems, and Louella Wiebe; his step-mother, Dorothy Schild; four grandchildren: Andrew Schild, Stacia Simmins, Tara Robertson and Allen Robertson; five great-grandchildren: Audrey, Logan, Aiden, Jayden and
Izibell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents, Emil and Hilda Schild.
The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June
3, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 109 S. Roosevelt Street,
Walla Walla. Rev. Stephen Juergensen will officiate. Memorial
contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church
through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles
