Blue Valley to serve up meats on site

Blue Valley Meats is adding a mobile delicatessen to its mix.

The Pine Street meat processor and full-service USDA butcher shop has added a food cart to its parking lot.

Guests who visit Blue Valley Meats, 1162 Pine St., should look for the red umbrella, operators said in a social media announcement.

Sausages and pulled-pork sandwiches are the starting entrees and can be garnished with Granny Smith apple and jicama slaw, housemade sauce, grated cheese, jalapeƱo peppers and other condiments.

For the time being, the operation is exclusively parked in the lot at the shop. But it may soon be on the move to additional locations, operators said. It also can provide catering and large lunches. Orders can be made in advance at 509-876-4700.

Blue Valley Meats operates 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays. The operation processes 100 percent grass-fed beef and lamb, natural pork and free-range poultry.
