Prescott names Wilson Smiley Memorial winner


PRESCOTT — The second annual Jack Smiley Memorial Scholarship winner is Emily Wilson.

The Jack Smiley Memorial Scholarship is received by a current senior at Prescott High School. It goes to the senior who has shown the most involvement in Prescott School activities, something Jack Smiley promoted. Smiley was a longtime coach, athletic director and teacher at Prescott.

Wilson has a 3.98 GPA, and participated soccer, basketball, track, Knowledge Bowl, Drama Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), National Honor Society, Music Club, ASB, as well as served as student representative to the Prescott School Board.

She will be attending Eastern Washington University.

The scholarship will be awarded at graduation ceremonies on Friday.
