WALLA WALLA — The annual Sweet Onion Girls Fastpitch Tournament is coming to three venues this weekend, with 25 teams competing in three age groups playing.
The Walla Walla Sting and Pomeroy Pirates are local teams competing in the 12-and-under division, with the Northwest Xplosion playing in the 14U division.
Play will be at the Mill Creek Sportsplex, Walla Walla Community College and Pioneer Park, with concessions and tourney apparel available at the Sportsplex.
Walla Walla Sting begins pool play at 8 a.m. Saturday at Mill Creek 1 against the TC Vipers, with Pomeroy facing the Yakima Young Guns at 9:45 a.m. on Mill Creek 2.
The Sting continue at 11:30 a.m. vs. Washington Angels on Mill Creek 3, and the Pirates and Sting square off at 1:15 p.m. on Mill Creek 3.
Xplosion begins pool play at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at WWCC against Northwest Spark, plays UC Lightning at 3 p.m. on the same field, and then Tri-Cities Threat at 6:30 p.m. on Mill Creek 1.
Tournament plays continues Sunday.
