Walla Walla’s inclusion as one of the 10 top wine destinations in the world is getting even more ink.
After making the annual list of Wine Enthusiast magazine’s top destinations, Walla Walla was heralded again Monday when USA Today shared the information and chatted with Wine Enthusiast Executive Editor Susan Kostrzewa all about it.
Walla Walla shares company on the Top 10 list with Umbria, Italy; Mendoza, Argentina; Sonoma, Calif.; Hill Country, Texas; and Languedoc, France, among others.
Of this Southeastern Washington community, the USA Today piece said: “This small rustic region makes highly regarded wines like Rhone and Bordeaux. While tasting rooms are modern and easily visited on a driving tour, visitors revel in the uncomplicated, relaxed atmosphere. ‘It’s like stepping back in time a little bit, like how Napa and Sonoma were in the ‘30s or ‘40s,’ Kostrzewa says.”
