When: Thursday, 6 p.m.
Where: Port of Walla Walla administrative office, 310 A St.
REAL ESTATE POLICY: Consider adoption of the proposed Real Estate Commission Policy. The document would replace the original Real Estate Broker Compensation Policy adopted in 1991. It outlines the Port’s guidelines for working with and compensating brokers.
MIDLANDS CARRIER DEVELOPMENT: Discuss a possible location at the Dodd Road Business Park for construction of a building to house Middlands Carrier. The company, currently based in Hermiston, repairs refrigeration equipment on Railex train cars.
LEASE: Consider a 25-year lease agreement with The Scoular Company, a grain business that plans to operate at the Port’s property in Burbank. The lease would begin April 1 on more than 12 acres at the Burbank Industrial Park.
WHEAT MARKETING POLICY: Consider adoption of a standardized wheat marketing policy to fund the yearly operational costs of the Walla Walla Regional Airport.
INSURANCE CLAIM: Consider a course of action in collecting funds paid by the Port in the wake of a flood at CAVU Cellars. Cascade Fire Protection has reportedly not agreed to reimburse the Port for the more than $200,000 the agency paid to cover initial cleanup related to a flood last August at the winery’s new tasting room. The flood has been linked to a malfunctioning fire suppression system. Cascade has offered to pay around $150,000.
TOURISM REQUEST: Consider a funding request for the Port to maintain its “Balloonmeister” level sponsorship of the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede at $1,100.
COMP PLAN: Consider authorizing staff to submit amendment proposals to the Comprehensive Plan.
REIFF MANUFACTURING: Receive an update on expansion at Reiff Manufacturing. The Port plans to build a pole building for lease to the expanding fiberglass enclosed structure manufacturer.
REVIEWS: Review leases entered into by administrative staff, calendar of events and miscellaneous staff reports.
