WALLA WALLA — Lyons Ferry Fish Hatchery is scheduled to deliver the first load of rainbow trout to Jefferson Park Pond today.
Fishing at Jefferson Park Pond is governed by Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. The pond is designated as a juvenile fishing area only. A permit is not required in order to fish, but fishing is restricted to youth ages 14 and younger. Adults are allowed to help bait a hook and remove the fish from the hook but cannot fish, cast the line into the water or hold the pole for a child.
Fishing is allowed year round 6 a.m.-9 p.m.
Boats or other floating devices are not allowed on the pond.
More fish deliveries are expected over the next two months from Lyons Ferry Hatchery and Tucannon Hatchery.
