Free Jazzercise classes planned as seasons change


There will be more classes at Walla Walla’s Jazzercise fitness studio. But some of them will take less time.

Starting next week, local franchise owner and Jazzercize instructor Janet Byerley will introduce three new half-hour fitness classes at the facility, 23 1/2 S. Spokane St.

The 3:55 p.m. classes will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and are designed to accommodate new participants while also offering a wider selection of choices for existing Jazzercisers.

The new classes will start with a stretch, continue with about 20 minutes of aerobic exercise, move on to strength training and end with a stretch, Byerley said. Participants can “fit in a workout and still be home for dinner,” she said in the announcement.

For the rest of March new participants can attend the Express classes free of charge.

The regular 60-minute Jazzercise classes continue with a spring focus, including Core (torso), Fusion (a mix of cardio and strength), Strike (kickboxing-inspired), Strength45 (45 minutes of weight lifting and strength focus) and Strength60 (a 60-minute version).

“I’m excited about the growth and change at our local Jazzercise,” Byerley said. “Jazzercise offers a unique blend of fitness and aerobic dance that Walla Walla residents have discovered is a lot of fun.”
