College Place residents hurt in vehicle crash

WALLA WALLA — Three College Place residents were injured when their vehicle struck the rear of a trailer, causing their vehicle to rollover off Highway 395 near Mesa, Wash.

According to state troopers, Samuel R. Shepard, 23, was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber on Friday at 5:50 p.m. when he struck the rear of a trailer towed by a 1994 Ford F250 driven by Richard T. Wilde, 67, of Kennewick.

Shepard and his passengers — Abigail F. Shepard, 22, and Eric R. Shepard, 1, — were all injured and transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where they were treated and released.

State patrol reported the cause as following too close.
