Letter - Wa-Hi bond proposal addresses biggest needs

I am writing in support of the Walla Walla High School bond proposal. It is a smart, stepwise way to address the first, most urgent needs for our school.

The School Board has done an excellent job listening to the citizens of this county and responding to the needs identified as the most necessary, cutting out the fluff and the wish list items, and keeping dislocation to a minimum for students.

By starting construction now, it takes advantage of low interest rates and moves forward a belated, urgent need to bring our high school into the 21st century.

We have a strong, vibrant community, and have shown our support for good schools in the past.

I encourage our community to endorse and support this bond. It is time to invest in our students who will be stepping out and changing the world, and then coming home to continue to make this community great.

While I can't point to any "fluff" in last years comprehensive bond, this letter is certainly accurate that the science classrooms are the greatest need.
