Ten area dancers plan to compete in ballet at the Dance Grand Prix Europe 2014 in June at Barcelona, Spain.

Students of Idalee Hutson-Fish at The Dance Center are Romey Drabek, Lisi Dobson, Sophie Rolph, Renee Heller, Oriana Golden, Brooke Perkins, Catherine Janis and Taya Lovejoy, all of Walla Walla, and Paige Ernst and Morgan Kishpaugh, both of Pendleton.

The girls are organizing benefits to raise the $4,600 they each need for the trip, including two events on Saturday: the Snip Snip Give, $15 suggested donation for a haircut, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and Tutus and Tapas, $25, from 6-9 p.m., both at the Power House Theatre, 111 N. Sixth Ave. The events are being produced by Michael Mettler and Betsey Hadden.

Checks may be made to The Performing Company and sent to The Dance Center, 129 E. Alder St., Suite B, Walla Walla WA 99362.
