With the slightly warmer weather, planting begins apace for members of Blue Mountain Pheasants Forever Chapter 258.
Volunteers will rendezvous at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sudbury Elevator to lay a 120-foot-long tarp and plant Rocky Mountain juniper, blue elderberry and Wood’s rose.
This is the last of the 600 feet of tarp intended for the site, said member Larry Boe. It should take less than two hours for all diggers who should bring shovels to dig a trench around the tarp border.
The 13-acre site was seeded on Feb. 27 with a mix of native bunch grasses. Refreshments will be served.
In addition, on March 13, the chapter gained a new president, Walla Wallan Dan Eveland, who can be reached at email@example.com.
