Willie “Bud” Tindol Jr. of Milton-Freewater passed away on March 16, 2014, at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, at the age of 73 years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater, with Pastor Bill Dobos officiating. Interment will follow at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in memory of Willie “Bud” Tindol to a charity of choice in care of the funeral home.
Willie Tindol was born on Nov. 9, 1940, the son of Willie and Bonnie (Cole) Tindol in Jack, Ala. At an early age, his family moved to Gridley, Calif., where Willie attended area schools. He later graduated from high school in Gridley. On Oct. 29, 1960, he married Betty (Skelly) in Reno. In 1981 the couple moved to Milton-Freewater, where they raised their family. Willie worked as a contractor for fruit production for numerous years. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and most of all making wine. He will always be remembered for helping others in time of need.
Survivors include his children, Bettina “Tina” and Conrad Niemeier of Milton-Freewater; Debbie and Rex Moses of Weston, Eric and Russell Tindol, both of Milton-Freewater; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
