WALLA WALLA — All performances of “Odyssey of Queen, a Rock Opera,” which was to premiere Thursday at Walla Walla Community College’s Performing Arts Center, have been canceled due to music licensing issues, according to WWCC theater arts instructor Kevin Loomer.

Loomer said that representatives from the legendary Britsh band Queen were first alerted by the production’s logo on its Facebook page, which bore a resemblance to the official Queen logo. From there, they discovered that there were licensing issues with the music in the play and requested the music be licensed properly or the play be canceled.

The production’s Facebook page has since been taken down. Emails and phone calls to the play’s producer, local artist Daniel Rose, who wrote the rock opera, were not returned as of this morning.
